Maya Krainc is a journalist based in Washington, DC.

A Slovenian-American, Maya writes about the politics of the former Yugoslavia for European Western Balkans and closely follows the geopolitics of post-Soviet countries, the European Union, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia.

Maya has experience writing breaking news and enterprise stories, producing newsletters, and editing videos and photos. Her work has appeared in European Western Balkans, Foreign Policy, Responsible Statecraft, Resources, and The Evanston RoundTable.

Maya graduated from the Northwestern University Medill School with a B.S. in Journalism and Political Science, with Honors.
